Ive had my diagnostics done on my car but no one ever said anything about the fan. I was stuck in traffic and my car temperature got up to about 230(a little past the middle) then it died out. The heat was still on though. When I tried to start it, it wouldnt turn over I had to wait about 15 min for the temp to go down then it started. Could it be the fan?

Might be, does the car have a/c? If it does then turn it on and see if the fan comes on. The a/c has to engage for the fan to come on though. If it doesnt, get back to me and we wil figure it out

I have had the car running and the a/c on. I looked under the hood but the fan wasnt going. I even let the a/c run a little longer just to see if it wouldnt kick on after a while. But like I said, I have had diagnostics done and have been to firestone and midas a few times for other things, wouldnt they notice something like that?

Maybe, if they let it run long enough to turn on the fan. With a/c on, is the clutch ( entire front) of the a/c compressor turning? If it isnt the fan wont come on
