1987 Chevy Celebrity engine rattling

My 1987 chevrolet celebrity eurosport has an overhauled motor every part of the motor, sensors are new but the problem is that at hot temperatures the engine starts to rattle and loses performance on starts and on high speeds it also consumes a lot of fuel what could the problem be. Also can you tell me where is the speed sensor because it does not show how fast I am going.

Check base timing by shorting terminals A and B of the ALDL. Should be 10 degrees BTDC.

Check fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge.

Check compression on each cylinder.

The speedometer sender is located on the rear of trans. It is round, bolts to the trans. And has a two prong connector.
