1986 Chevy Celebrity Replacing the water pump and locating

Hi guys,

I am trying to find the easiest way to replace the water pump. I already have the replacement parts, but don't know how to locate and remove old one. Also, I am replacing the power steering pump and followed the link provided in a answer to another guys inuirey. I just don't know where to shop or an "remover"and "installer" tool. Hope this enough info for you to help me with.

I'm more familiar with the v6, but it looks like your water pump has a pretty simple bolt pattern around a more or less circular flange. The potential problem might be with the pulley. Looks like it's got three grooves for v-belts running to other accessories. Plus it might be that your pulley presses on rather than bolts on. Advance Auto has a replacement complete with pulley that might be a good choice if it's the press-fit type.

Advance also sells the power steering pulley puller/installer tool.
