I have chavi, cavalier 2001 model, engine 2.2, mileage--85000 km.
The problem is that after driving for few kms 8 to 10 km, my rear right side drum getting hot. I checked with mechanic he said it is due to your pads touching the drum. Is the problem is with praking brake cable? Well I never use parking brake. Pls advice?

Either you got youre rear brake shoes adjusted to much, Or something is not lined up properly, Broken spring or clamp, Ive got 01 cavalier, I just did my rear brake job. My rear shoes were to far gone, I replaced all the shoes' drums / wheel cyl's / spring hardware kit, All good as new, Youre gonna have to take off the rear brake drums to see what happening back there.

Good luck
