I am having a Chevy Cavalier 2000 2.2L with A/C, milage 81000km. The coolant fan motor is faulty and I will replace it. My question is that can I just replace the motor with a new motor? A garage technician told me I must replace the entire fan and motor; if I just replace the motor there will be a connection problem between the new motor and the fan and finally the fan or motor gonna be damaged. Is this true? Thanks a lot for any input!

Hi I dont know too much but the motor and fan are actually all one piece so I would think that is the only way to do it or at least the easiest way I just had to replace mine and all it is is one little plug to hook it up, just take the old one out and put the new one in place then just plug it in but be sure to test it to make sure its working right, when you get it in just crank the ac and watch the fan to make sure it starts running
