2003 Chevy Cavalier tunk wont close

my trunk just recently stopped working it didint want to close anymore what could this be and and hoe do I fix it?

Two thoughts, the latch has been triggered and is stuck. IF so spray the latch with a lubricant or rust penetrant and turn the key in the lock to release it. May need to stick a screwdriver in the latch to force it open. IF your not sure, I'll post a pic.

Secondly the latch is open and s not hitting the catch properly. In which case you may have to tweak the catch out a little to mate up with the latch.
