2003 Chevy Cavalier Cannot change air vent setting

I had posted earlier about not being able to turn the vent setting knob to defrost, it is stuck on top(dash) vent setting. I can now kind of turn the knob, but the setting is still set on top dash vents only. When I turn knob to top and floor vent setting, it still only comes out the top. Please just let me know if its a quick fix or something internal that must be taken car of at the dealer

Pull your knob off and see if it is slipping on the shaft. Also try turning the metal shaft the knob goes on with some pliers or vise grips. To see if the vent air changes. If it does the know is slipping. If not you have a vacume control valve under the dash stuck or the control cabl;e to the vent come loose.
