Transmission problem
2003 Chevy Cavalier Manual 91,000 miles

When driving the car I have to skip third and fourth gear. I was told the problem was my transmission I was also told I may have to have the transmission rebuilt. Is this true?

So if you try to shift into 3rd or 4th gear what happens?

If your only having grinding going into those two gear's then you have a problem inside the transmission most likely the synconizer's. You will have to price out which is cheaper having a used transmission put in or having your transmission repaired.
