I recently took out the 20 amp fuse for my brake lights and haz lights. When I did this the fuse was not blown and when I went to put it back in it blew the fuse.I went to the store and purchased more and everytime same thing blown fuse.A buddy of mine told me to take the neg side off of the battery and let it reset the computer for a couple mins. Saying that it was thinking the(computer in my car) That there was never a blown fuse so it keeps rejecting it?
Im just wondering What it would be?

The PCM is smart but not that smart. Most likely you have a short to ground in the brake light system, or when you install the fuse it is shorting to ground.

Try removing neg. Battery cable, install fuse, reconnect battery and if it blows again, then the wiring to brake lights or the fuse block has a short in it.

Thanks for the advice. But I tried it with the neg cable on the battery and it didnt work:( Well I kinda know some things about vehicles But electrical is not my bread and butter. And oh btw my turning signals dont work either. Is there any way I can do this my self?I have a couple of buddys that know alot about vehicles. If I can do it myself could you break it down step by step and help me out?Or should I just have my friends look at it for me?

You are going to need a schematic of the wiring system, to do the job right. I would use the car repair manual in this thread or get a Haynes manual.

Shorts can be found, you just need to follow the circuit and find the short, usually a power wire that is grounding to the chassis.

Here are some pics to get you started.

Well I really cant get a haynes manual today and thats the one I would prefer getting. It just sucks because I wanna try to find the short without it. But I dont think I can huh? Well I guess I will just wait and get a manual then cuz I dont want to mess anything else up with my car. But thanks alot for the help:)
