I was driving from work when all of a sudden my car started shakiing and making this loud lawnmower cranking noise and I started losing acceleration. I just had the head gasket fixed about 8 months ago for about $1500. Two months ago the car did the same thing and I had another mechanic look at. He said that the spark plug was shooting out because the threads in the head gasket were worn and that the person who fixed the car before did something wrong. What are your thoughts and is this an easy fix that I can do on my own?

You can get a heli coil kit for the spark plug but is it an easy fix? Yes and no. YOu need to be careful what you are doing with the drilling and installation of a helicoil. You'll need to use red loctite to hold the heli coil, then when it's installed and cured for a little while, a couple of hours should be ok, then install the spark plugs again and start it up. Make sure to put antisieze on the plugs so they won't sieze in the spark plug bores. And find another mechanic if two plugs have come out already.
