My interior light in my car stay on when I am at a stop light and go off when I am driving. Is it a sensor somewhere in the motor.

It comes on when the car stops at lights and goes off when driving. When u stop at ligts or just park it stays on for a good little while. I heard people say it a sensor on the motor or something on the motor. It does not come on when braking or maybe it does because when braking coming to a light, it comes on.

Okay:

What I need you to do it this. Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. If the light has been on, then chances are there is a trouble code stored in the computer that will help us identify where the problem is coming from. Most parts stores will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket for you.

Let me know what code they find before allowing them to sell you parts.

PS: I was thinking there may be a short between the brake light and the check engine light. THat is why I asked about the question. However, now I don't think that.
