I have a 200 Chevy Cavalier with approximately 125,000 miles on it. As I was driving down the road, I noticed that the steering wheel was extremely hard to turn. After getting home, I opened the hood to find that one of the belts had broken & was shredded to pieces. What belt would this be and is this an easy fix?

They are no bad. Its called a serpentine belt. You may also wanna check the belt tensioner, that may have gone bad also. But if you have never worked on a car before I suggest buying a service manual or having your local shop look at it.
