My car just recently started making this grinding noise it only happens when I take off at a stop. Now all of a sudden my trans started jerking it doesnt happen all the time so far its only happened twice. I took it to a local transmission repair shop and he said it was my motor mounts but why would my trans be jerking. It has fluid. Please help I need to get this fixed.

A bad or broken motor mount will make a loud grinding noise and/or bad viberation in the car. The trans jerking could be just a result of the bad mounts when it shifts. I'd have the mount(s) replaced before they get worse and start breaking other things, then see how the trans feels when it shifts.
