Ok the problem started out with an occasional jerk to the left at random times and then one night I took it to the race track and it did fine after this I had taken it to the transmission shop to get it looked at and they said the synchros were goin out in second gear and I have had synchros go out before in another car and the transmission never had complete failure and this car I have now has less miles less wear on the transmission and now it does not even go in to gear it just grinds when u put it into gear and when u ease out on the clutch it makes the most horrible crunch and grind noise what are the possibilites that it is just a spider gear or complete transmission failure.

Hi there,

The more you try to force the gear in the more damage you will do. The noise is the selector hub forcing (or trying to) it's self into the rotating gear hub, the syncro's job is to slow the gear down so the hub can engage easily, you may of already done some serious damage, pull it down and inspect ASAP.
