1998 Chevy Cavalier Car Won´t Stay Idle

My car is a chevy cavalier 1998, I accidentally got caught up in a water current and my car was sunk. The car is fine but when I turn it on it won ´t stay idle, it sound like you ´re actually pressing on the gas. Whats wrong with it?

It sound like you ´re actually pressing on the gas, it will continue to run while pressing on the gas.

Try checking the idle air control valve then start checking all the sensors its gonna be hard.
