My shift on the floor is not working properly for example not going into the right gear and not able to move shifter past drive one when I pull it back it jams ups. Will not move baclk far enough for drive 2 and 3, when I manually switch gears under the hood they all work. Please a diagnosis, bent rod or what?

You have a cable that goes from the console shifter to the one on the transimission. The cable could have broke or a clip that holds it in place on either end could have broken or came off. Best to have someone try to shift it while you look under hood to see if anything is screwy if it's ok there then you'l need to take the console off and look at the shifter.

If its not those cables, check your tranny fluid (though it would have to be near empty to get that bad) and if that isn't it you may need a new transmission. Also does your shifter still have the protective cover that keeps things from falling down inside? If not perhaps something got in there.
