1997 Chevy Cavalier STONG SMELL OF GAS

1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl 88975 miles

Good morning. Yesterday morning I noticed a strong smell of gas while driving to work. Then when I was driving home in the evening, my car turned off by itself while I was driving.I stopped at a mechanic and they checked for any broken hoses, but could not readily view any damage.I am to take my car to them again this morning so they can check it more thoroughly, but I would like to be able to tell them what the problem may be upfront. Can you please help me. Aida

Could be a possible fuel pressure regulator leaking. You didnt see any leaks under the vehicle?

Check your fuel injector thats what happened to my 97 caval;ier but after it was replaced my car wouldnt start so be careful but thats what happened to my car I started smelling gas and thats what it was
