We just recently bought this car, and when we bought it the stereo isn't working because it reads locked on the lcd screen on the stereo. The gentleman that we bought the car off of said he never listened to it either, and that he didn't know how to unlock it. What we would like to know is if there is a way we can unlock it ourselves to get the stereo to work.

You need to get the radio serial no #
radio has to be removed and its on the back of the radio
you have to take this # with the VIN #
to a GM dealer
then they can help
and they will give you the code to unlock the radio

If they want to charge you thats up to them
and its the only way you can get the radio to work
$40 is not bad
just make sure you get the code
and keep it in a safe place
