Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100.00 miles

I have a 97 cavalier with a 2.2L engine. It was running when I started working on it. I replaced the water pump, thermostat, temperature sending unit and plugs. I was a mechanic, but that was 25 years ago. Things have changed. When I try to start the engine it tries to start but will not. I have looked at every thing over and over again and I can`t seem to find what I did wrong can you help?

Hi there,

you will have to check for spark, fuel pressure and injector pulse, if you can run a scan as well to check for any set fault codes, when you have determined what is not working then we can look into why, start here.

Do you have a security light flashing?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Tell us what equipment (test equipment) you have and we will see what we can do.

I will post this on the moderators forum, so we can get the Cavalier, running again.

Thanks for the donation and if you are not satisfied we will refund it. mmprince4000
