Do I need to disable the air bags to replace heater fan.I live in the middle of a large wooded area, lots of little critters around. They are always loading my car up with nuts for the winter. This year they managed to get some in my heater fan, so I need to clean it out and I might need to replace it. What is the easiest way to access this fan?

As long as the ignition is off and your not probing around under there with test lights and the such you wont have to disable the air bags. Best way is to remove the blower motor and vaccum out the stuff thats in the ducts.
