1996 Chevy Cavalier head gasket

Since my car is a 96' and now has a head gasket problem, do you think it is worth putting in $750? Prior to this there has never been a problem with it! Small things such as a water pump, tires, brakes. What would you suggest.

If you are going to do work yourself, then it is probably worth saving.

Otherwise, unless you have a GOOD mechanic that stands behind there work, you could be throwing it away.

As a general rule, if cost to repair exceeds 60% of value it is not a good deal.
