I have a 95 cavalier. My cavalier runs great until it's hot out I would say 90+ degrees outside it will overheat and shut off. The car wont start back up until its cooled down. Please help

Hello, if the engine is overheating, does the radiator fan come on? When it refuses to restart, have you done any basic testing? HAVE A HELPER crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. Also use a gage and check fuel pressure. Any codes?

I've let the car idle until it warmed up and yes the fan did kick on. I'm not sure if the fan is on when it over heats. I will test this to make sure. When it wont start I do here the fuel pump. IT cranks over as if its not getting gas or a spark. Let me explain a little more. When the car over heats it starts to sputter like its getting no gas, then it finally dies. It wont start for a hour or so.

Spark plugs, plug wires are new. I know the car shouldnt be shut off because its overheated so the main question is why is it over heating?

When it refuses to restart, I'd visually check for spark at the plugs, Pull a plug boot off, use a known good plug or spark tester in the boot. If using regular plug, lay metal part of plug against metal part of engine, have helper crank the engine, watch for spark at the tip of plug.
