I need the head gasket replaced on the car, according to the local chevy/gm dealership. They quoted me $600, so i've looked into doing it myself. What other options do I have? Any close years of other cavs that I can pull from?

You "may" be able to determine the O2 CIRCUIT that is bad, not necessarily the sensor itself, by having the codes read.

Its not to hard of a job to do yourself. All you need is basic tools and a new gasket and some rtv sealent.
