Brakes problem
1989 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 200K+ miles

So I blew out the rear driver side brake line and the only problem is the line goes straight from brakes to the master cylinder. But doesnt stop there the line is so rusted it cant be removed from the nylon bracket running to the brake itself. So question is whats best way to get the line removed? And would a new line along with a compression fitting be the best fix if I were to cut the line half way down door?

NEVER use compression fittings on brake lines.

You will hear hundreds of testimonials from people who "have used this method for years with no problems". Fact is compression fittings can fail and will cause a complete loss of braking.

Go to website inlinetube. Com and get the proper replacement lines (steel or stainless) pre-bent and ready to install.

Thanks I just broke down and took it to a mechanic couldnt get the line off and didnt feel like messing with it

Try the inlinetube. Com website, you can usually replace the entire system for $200 or so.
