Engine Performance problem
1984 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150 k miles

My 84 Cavalier Convertable 2.0 4cyl engine, starts up
fine, but when I press the gas pedal down it bogs, spark plugs are sooty, could this be the map sensor or throttle body injector problem Please help Thanks

Tbi not carburated?

I would be checking the tps also disconnect the map sensor wiring harness. Not the vaccum line. Just the harness.

Check tps voltage closed throttle then 1/4 throttle half and wide.
