1996 Chevy Caprice FUEL PUMP

MY MECHANIC WAS SUSPOSED TO RUN A HOTWIRE TO MY FUEL PUMP BECAUSE I KEEPS BLOWING A FUSE TO MY FUEL PUMP. SOME DAYS IT WILL RUN FINE AND SOME DAYS IT WILL BLOW. SO I WANTED TO KNOW SHOULD THAT HOTWIRE BE RAN AND IF SO HOW TO DO IT. THANKS

If you wish not finding where the short circuit is-use a toggle switch and go straight to the gray wire on the fuel pump connector from the battery.

When attaching the toggle switch to the grey wire will this keep the fuel pump fuse from blowing out.

Cut the gray wire coming from the front side-and hook up your power to the gray wire to the connector going into the fuel pump.

So when I connect the toggle switch to the grey wire is the grey wire the hotwire? And if so do I need to ground the other wire. Also if possible can you give me step by step instructions.

Get a wire as thick as the gray wire connect it the battery positive post run it thru the firewall position it where you can reach it cut the wire connect it to the toggle switch then take it to the gray wire-
