when I go to start my car I put the key in the ignition turn it but nothing happens. There is no resistance in the switch itself it jus goes to the start position but stilll nothing, I replaced the ignition lock but still nothin

Welcome to 2CarPros, It could be in the steering column linkage to the ignition switch. The electrical part is located towards the base of the column. What usually breaks is the metal rack that has teeth. It is connected to the lock cylinder. If this is the problem, it requires disassembly of the column. Special tools are required.
