1993 Chevy Caprice Corvette engine?

A mechanic told me that my car had a corvette engine in it and that some of the parts weren't even being used cuz of the engine difference. How can I tell? I want to sell the car but he said that the engine is probably worth more than the car is and honestly I don't know what to do. My husband left me a month ago and i'm 4 months pregnant and have 3 kids that i've got to take care of so I really want to make a good decision. I was going to ask $2000 for the car. What should I do?

You can go to a website I think it's Mortech or something similar it has most all of the chevy numbers. You need to have the number off the engine to see what it s. You probaly have the LT1 engine as that was made that year. If you want to sell the car sell and don't worry about what engine is in it. Usually those engines came with impalas.
