I would like to know why on the caprice it cranks at first and then just dies out suddenly while driving if I slow down. The lights and all still come on but it will not fully turn over. It tries to start back up but nothing happens. I have changed the alternator and charged the battery; the battery is only about 8mnths old.

It tries to start back up but nothing happens.

Nothing happens-do you mean it cranks over and refuses to start or just won't crank at all?

Yes, it will not turn over. It sounds like it wants to crank up but it doesn't, until it sits for a while and then is jumped back off.
