In idle or while my foot is on the brake my car misfires consistently. When I accelerate it stops (or at least I can't feel or hear it). This started yesterday and the check engine light came on yesterday and today the light was off. Either way, I took it to Auto Zone and the guy at Auto Zone said that it was a cylinder misfire and that I need to get a tune-up/replace spark plug. Does this sound correct? Is that likely what's wrong? Are there other likely possibilities? I don't want it to be anything serious, but I like to go to the repair-man with an idea of what I'm up against.

A cylinder miss fire could be caused by a bad plug or wire.
But more likely to be a bad coil (there are three coils one this engine each fires 2 plugs) find out which cylinder is missing and replace that coil
