Good Luck on the pump! That was one of the many things we have done on my daughter's car. If you pay someone to fix it--good luck! $800 around here. We talked to a friend and he gave us a few shortcuts-- first open the gas tank, let it breathe, then return it. Crank the car and see if you can hear it "run" or 'pump" gas. If not, that is the first thing to have checked. If you are going to have to replace the fuel pump, do it yourself if you are handy with cars. It is in the rear behind the back seat. Pull up the carpet. There is your gas tank. We took some chances here but in the redneck way of life- we cut a large hole in the top of the tank and found the pump. From here, you can take it out and replace it. If you can't do it yourself, the mechanic will remove the whole back-end of the car, drain the gas tank, etc, etc, etc. That is why it is so expensive--labor and time. Good luck! Hope that is the fix or just the filter. It's not a bad idea to have those checked or replaced - about $75 parts and labor, unless you can do it yourself. Good luck!
