Engine Performance problem
1995 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 161k miles

Just bought a 95 camaro 3.4L engine code S and I have been noticing at 45-65 mph it runs rough and like it wants to die out. I have changed the spark plugs and wires oil change and trans fluid still looks good. We ran a computer through it and no codes came up. We did notice a set of Quad something sensors 1 and 4 which were bad but cannot figure out what those are. It doesnt seem like a trans problem because if I accelerate from stop to 80 say getting on the eway the car runs fine but when I am trying to keep it at a steady 65 it jerks a bit or surges, also this happens at 45 mph as most street speed limits are. Can you help me?

It looks like you have a bad computer, the Quad drivers for cyl 1-4 failed, you're loosing injector pulse.

I was told that it was 3-4 clutch and I need to have the trans repaired. I like the computer answer better because it is cheaper and makes a little sense but after 70 mph or so the car stops with the jolting and insted just shakes a tad. Is there anyway to confirm that it is the computer? Any tests? Thanks for the help so far.

What you're gonna need is a real scanner, such as a Snap-on Soluus, have someone who knows how to use the scanner sit in pass. Seat with scanner hooked to the car, as your driving he can monitor all outputs and inputs to the computer, when the problem shows up he can use the scanner to take a snapshot of the readings, and you will be able to see whats failing.I have never had 3-4 clutches do what you're describing without failing altogether shortly thereafter.I have a 90 Z-71 pickup that the 3-4 clutches shuddered upon entrance to a highway 15mins later I was calling a towtruck and it only did it once. It was a "What the F was that moment". Good luck, Lou
