I bought a 94 camaro with 190000 miles as a mode of transportation and ultimately a project to restore. When I test Drove it a week ago it ran fine. Now the "Service Engine Soon" light came on and it's died on me a couple of times. It has trouble going uphill. I have a Code Reader but when I plug it in no code comes up. I realize this is an old car and I planned on putting in a rebuilt crate and transmission. Any suggestions? Thanks

You may have a code reader but it may be the wrong one. Your car has te OBD1 system not OBD2. If your service engine light is on then there is a problem. On yours you an simply use a paper clip and cross A&B on the ALDL and turn your key on an dyour service engnie light ill blink. Count the blinks and come pback to the site an dlook under OBD1 forwhat your light did- liek 12 24 etc. For a code 12 it will blink once then twice three times then go to the next one. That is what you 'll look for first.
