Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 152000 miles

light keeps coming on. Had diagnostics test done, throwing code R0336. Crank shaft position sensor. What does this mean? What needs to be done to repair this and how much?

It means either the crank sensor OR the circuit is bad and needs to be tested, The sensors aren't too expensive, in the 20.00 dollar range, it's how hard is it to get at, some are bolted to the front of the engine, just beside the crank pulley, some are under the timing cover, those are the expensive ones to fix!
If you have the 3.8 It's behind the pulley and a shield...
