My 1993 camaro shortly after starting to drive it starts overheating. After turning the A/C on it cools back down. Then after driving a while I can turn of the A/C and it holds the temperature for a while.

When you turn the a/c on the fan starts so you probably have a radiator problem. When your car is heated up turn it off and feel all around theradiator. If you feel any cold spots the radiator needs to be replaced. It should be the same temp or about the same temp all over.
