Hi I have recently bought my camaro iroc z28 and it is burning gas soooo quick. I know its burning rich and I think it is the oxygen sensor. What should a car like this get for gas mileage. And is there any other things to check for that could be causing it. Also recently my cars radiator blew and it is because it keeps overheating because my fan will not turn on. We have tried replacing the thermostat as well as the switch and it still only turns on when I have the key forward but once I start the car it kills the fan and will not turn on. I currently go through 16 gallons every 3 days and only 200 or so kilometers! Thanks a lot

An IROC is a sports car and not meant to get good gas mileage. You should expect low mileage. You could get a scan reading on short and long term fuel trim readings from someone with a scanner capable of providing these readings. That tells if the car is performing according to specs, fuel usage-wise.

If the cooling fan comes on when the key is on, thats not supposed to happen and the cause is usually the computer itself. This could relate with the fuel mileage issue also as the computer is what supplies amounts of fuel required for your driving needs (heavy accelerating=more fuel required, coasting or steady accelerating=less fuel required). Cooling fan issue could be a relay issue also.
