Hello
I have a 1980 Camaro Z28 with the TH350 Automatic. I can't seem to get my pan to stop leaking. It didn't start leaking until I put a shift kit in and reinstalled the pan with a new gasket.

I even purchased a new pan (figuring the old one was warped around the bolt holes) and the leak is worse now!

Is there a specific bolt tightening sequence (like with head bolts) that will make the gasket seal correctly?

Also, is there a type of gasket that prevents leaks?

I've been trying to find this info online, but haven't had any luck

thanks for your help!

Nope, didn't use any sealant. I heard it could break off into the pan and get stuck in the passages of the tranny.

Thanks

That's correct Torque pan bolts to 71-89 inch lbs. Use front back side side alternating sequence then torque final in a rotating around pan bolts. Is fluid level correct? Is filter paper or pick up screen?
