I recently started working on a 74 camaro. I replaced the wires and plugs, along with the cap and rotor. I had the car timed and running very well. After a little while, it starting running poorly, and you can't even hit the gas without it stalling. It is also making a ticking noise, but it doesn't sound anything near what a bad lifter sounds like. Any idea what it could be? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Well, I mean the car starts, its just running poorly. I think that the distributor cap may be wired wrong with the way the rotor is on. Ive yet to check it

Put the engine's no.1 piston on its compresssion stroke and verify whether the rotor is pointing to the no.1 cap tower-if not reset it then time the ignition-might also want to test the coil's primary and secondary windings.
