I bought a new intake for a 4bbl carb to replace the 2 bbl thats on there, my buddy says I should've bought a intake manfiold without the egr valve, but does it matter? Can't you just not hook it up? Any help is appreciated thanks

Although your buddy is right, you can probably find a block off plate to cover egr valve port in intake. Performance might be less, but you probaly wont notice differance, if you put egr valve back on you can leave it unhooked, but this might be violation of your states pollution laws.
