I was driving home and started to smell oil. I drove it straight home and parked, got out and there was a steady drip for a while then quit. The motor runs fine. My question is if it is the main seal and if it is will I have to pull the motor or can I drop the tranny and exaust manifolds instead. It shows it as a one piece on orileys websiteare these hard to replace.

PS this has happened on every car ive owned.

i do not beat on my vehicles either. And change the oil with the right amount each time.

I have replaced the rear main seal on my 92 blazer and all you have to do is take out the drive line and unbolt everything to the motor. Also dont take out the crossmember to the trans just take out the bolts and slide it back. It is alot easier to do it that way.
