1995 blazer 112000 miles, 4.3 vortec.

my blazer just died and will not start, after checking the fuses, the ecm fuse was blown. Everytime I replace it it blows as soon as I turn the key on.I pulled the dist. Cap and found that 1 screw had come out of the rotor and fallen inside the dist.I straightened that up and still same results. Now its tricky. If I un plug the dist module it still blows the ecm fuse when the key is turned on. If I plug the module in and un plug the computer it doesnt blow. When I plug in computer it blows. Is it in computer. With the dist unopluged it still blows ecm when computers plugged in. Please help

This sounds like you have a shorted ignition coil or oxygen sensor please unplug them to see which one blows the fuse.

Hello, im having the same problem with my 01' blazer. Ive blown more than 60 fuses in last month. Its gotta be a wiring issue since everything else is replaced. 500$ later and a new starter its still blowing. My mechanic showed me how to change the fuse when it blows so he dont have to come rescue me wherever I broke down. Im on here looking for a second opinion because im wasting money and time with my mechanic whos doing process of elimination and is still baffled to whats going on. Starter was replaced again and still blowing fuses. Harness is okay and runs great when its started. If the fuse is changed and I dont drive a little (just turn blazer off and try to start again) it blows repeatedly. If fuse is changed and I drive a block, shut it off. It will start back up. But 2-4 days later fuses will blow again. Then I found this post and discovered a shorted ignition coil causing the problem, all fixed, I love this site.
