My question may be rather dumb but it seems that I am burning more gas latly. Or a gas leak I have looked under the car to see if it is leaking but nothing and I do not smell gas either running or just after I turn it off. I am getting about 200 mi per tank. Checked the air cleaner it is clean but I was thinking if the compresser is getting ready to go would this happen?

Has it ever been tuned up? Does it ever crank longer to start than it used to? Does it miss sometimes when you first start it? Could be a fuel pressure regulator blown, letting raw fuel into the intake

A slipping transmission could cause poor fuel economy also.

Tire pressures good? If you get tires that start with LT (light truck) they usually have a higher psi rating than a tire that starts with P (pasenger) this will help mpg a little bit due to the fact that a harder tire rolls better
