I was advised by my mechanic that I required a new fuel pump. The gauge has been malfunctioning recently ( does not read below 3/4 tank until it's empty) Annoying but I have been using the trip meter to gauge between fill-ups. I also heard via gear-head friends that this Chevy is notorious for malfunctioning fuel gauges and that the fuel pump is susceptible to failure if you run the vehicle with low fuel levels. Can you confirm? Also, I have located a replacement pump but the seller requires a module code number that apparently is on the unit. Is there another way to find out which module is on this vehicle prior to pulling the pump? Please advise. Thanks, Chris

Yes the pumps are known to fail when run low on fuel alot or get along wileage wise. What kind of pump were you thinking of installing? I have had to re-do many tank units due to customers less expensive pump modules, I would do an A/C Delco only. There is a code on top of th etank unit, but you wil have to lower it at minimum to see the code. If your Blazer is 2 door the# is MU1063 and 4 door is MU85
