1999 Chevy Blazer fuel injector misfiring

Hi I am debating whether or not to fix the fuel injector or junk it. It has been misfiring off & on for a year or so, and I have been doing temporary fix with fuel injector cleaner. How accurate are the diagnostic machines to pinpoint which injector it is? How expensive is it to fix this problem?

I am not a mechanic but have a 1998 blazer 6cyl, 4 wheel drive and am having trouble with hesitating and backfires. Took it to my mechanic he said if its the fuel injectors its $600 for them.(Not including labor).
