After driving on the highway about 20 miles, I stop at a stoplight. When I start up a large puff of smoke comes out of my tailpipe.

Depending onthe color of the smoke wold depend on teh problem. A blue smoke would indicate valve seals worn out or broken. Ehite smoke would indicage a blown head gasket or inlet gasket. Leaking.
