Blazer is running rough, obd11 won"t read, was told it was obd1, this scanner won"t fit plug, was there an in experimental system between obd1 and obd11? What should I do? Check engine light comes on then goes off periodically. Thanks Russell

Welcome, what is your vin? 12 pin datalink connector should be obd 1. 16 pin datalink connector should be obd2. Different connectors. It also could be a hybrid connector. There may be a decal under your hood that says if your fully compliant obd2?

You may be able to get flash codes from the cel, by using jumper wire connecting pins 5 and 6. Then turn the key to on, no crank. You count the flashes to get the codes. I can't guarantee that will work. Your decision.
