If you stop at a red light or in a drive thru it will start missing, if you put it in drive or neutral and give it alot of gas it will backfire and smoke will come out of the tail pipe then it will stop, might smell some gas. It may do this once every two or three months then at times it will do this then take spells and do it for a few days. Can you please help us with this.

When its having its spells. I would suggest checking the igniiton system. Sounds like its having quite the burning of fuel.

Could be running extremely rich. Fuel pressure might be good to check in.

Has the IAC module ever been cleaned?

Check to make sure that the iac module is good and you have no vaccum leaks.

The IAC module has to be clean and the pintle must be allowed to move freely.

Fuel pressure coudl be too high also.
