1993 Chevy Blazer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Yes a silly inquiry i'm sure, but is a major on my end. I have just bought a93 Blazer, once I got it home I attemptewd to add fluids, everything was fine upon purchase, and the latch underneath the driver side dash snapped and now I can not open the hood.

I monkied with it all morning and it's not a broken cable as far as I can see in the wheel well, anyone know of a way I can get it open? Thank You

Im almost positive that the cable and latch-underdash are sold as a unit. The cable works that similiar to a bicycle. The black sheathing stays put, and the cable slides through the inside. The best way for you to get the hood open, is find the end of the cable inside your truck, and see if you can see any of the cable. What I mean by this is hold the black cable in your hand, look at the end. The internal cable will be silver in color, and most likely frayed at the end if it snapped. Hold the black sheathing in one had, and with a pair of needlenose pliers, pinch the silver cable about 1 inch from where it goes into the sheathing. Then rotate the pliers towards the sheathing so the cable wraps around the end of your pliers, and pull. Once you get it open, I highly recommend replacing the cable at this point. Good luck!
