Hear a click and then I lose all power to truck

I just replaced the starter on my 88 Blazer and sometimes when I start it I hear a click and then I lose all power to truck until I turn the key off and it resest itself. Took out starter and reinstalled and problem was fixed but now has started again. Any Ideas?

Had a similar problem with my 86. Turned out to be the plug on top of the Alternator. Costs 2 bucks and bought it off the shelf. Spliced in new plug and problem fixed. Good luck.
