Jacobandnickolas: is in reply to.
was told by mechanic ghe checked out fuel regulator and it was good. This is also the same person who said injectors for 3 & 4 were bad and needed replacing at the tune of 500.00, sure. Picked up car not running still. Swapped 3 & 4 for 1 & 2. Injectors apparently fine. Did not flood 1 & 2 but 3 & 4 still flooding. Lots of. Like I had poured a cup of gas in 3 & 4 within 6/7 cranks, even with injectors unplugged and cold start injector unplugged as well. Maybe I should check out regulator myself, but not sure how to. The first time this happened the car was towed to diffrent garage only to run fine when it got there. No engine light nothing. Car was given tune-up including fuel filter changed. Ran great for 2 weeks only to do it again, but this time engine coded to tps being bad, replaced, not the fix. Was then told ecu must be bad if giving bad code. Replaced ecu. Not that either. If fuel regulator was bad wouldn, t I be getting fuel in 1 & 2 as well? Stumped/jeff sorry about the points thing, im new here and have none to give as of yet.

Was a recall of the injectors on some 2.2 equiped Barrettas, also a tech bulliten on the O-ring seals, and leakage, here is that one, Check with Chevy to see if the recall was done.
SECTION C2 & 4C - BOTTOM FEED FUEL INJECTOR R & I TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Reference Number(s): 61-63-09 Related Ref Number(s): 61-63-09 ARTICLE BEGINNING SECTION C2 AND 4C - FUEL METERING SYSTEM AND FUEL SYSTEM (SFI) - REVISED TO EMPHASIZE BOTTOM FEED FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Model(s): 1992-96 Buick Century 1992-96 Chevrolet Beretta 1992-97 Chevrolet Cavalier 1993-96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 1995-97 Pontiac Sunfire 19997 Chevrolet and GMC S/T Models Section: 6E - Engine Fuel & Emission Bulletin No.: 61-63-09 Date: June 1996 VEHICLES AFFECTED 1992-96 Buick Century 1992-96 Chevrolet Beretta 1992-97 Chevrolet Cavalier 1993-96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 1995-97 Pontiac Sunfire 1994-97 Chevrolet and GMC S/T models with 2.2L engine (VIN 4 - RPO LN2). SERVICE INFORMATION Page 1 of 2 SECTION C2 This bulletin is being issued to emphasize the importance of following all of the procedures in the Service Manual when replacing bottom feed fuel injectors on LN2 engines to prevent possible engine damage from hydrostatic lock-up. Extra attention must be taken to ensure that all O-rings are installed properly on bottom feed fuel injectors prior to installation. Bottom feed fuel injectors must be installed carefully to prevent the O-rings from damage which can cause fuel to enter the engine cylinders. Following the replacement of bottom feed fuel injectors, the Fuel System Diagnosis test should be performed to verify that the bottom feed fuel injectors are not leaking. If the fuel system does not hold pressure, the engine must not be cranked over. Diagnose the loss of fuel pressure before cranking the engine. NOTE: In order to prevent possible engine damage, these procedures must be followed.
Here is the proceedure, I think your problem may be the o-rings, did you use new ones?
FUEL RAIL & INJECTORS Removal 1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove upper manifold. Remove fuel return line retaining bracket nut and bracket. Disconnect and plug fuel return line at pressure regulator. 2. Disconnect vacuum hose at fuel pressure regulator. Remove fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect and plug fuel inlet line at injector retainer. Remove injector retainer retaining screws. Carefully slide injector retainer from injector slots and remove from intake manifold. 3. Disconnect electrical connectors from injectors. Remove injectors from intake manifold. Remove injector "O" rings and discard. Installation To install, reverse removal procedure. Coat NEW injector "O" rings with clean engine oil. Position injectors into intake manifold and injector retainer over injectors. Tighten injector retainer screws. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Fig. 3: Locating Fuel Rail Assembly Components - (VIN 4) Courtesy of GENERAL MOTORS CORP. NOTE: If injector is replaced, ensure replacement injector has the same part number as injector removed.
